Lunch reviews for the Texan salaryman.

Tabelog is Japan’s most extensive restaurant database with over 860,000 listed restaurants. While the overworked Japanese salaryman is inundated with a wealth of salacious lunch options, too often is the average Texan left with the self-inflicted question, “McAlister’s or Panera?”

Don’t let corporate culture keep you from ordering those tiger skin chicken feet on your lunch break. No, you don’t need a “light” lunch, nor do you have to waste your caffeine tolerance on that afternoon budget meeting. Search for a review, order a side of sardines and extra onions, bring a tic tac, and make it back in time for your one o’ clock.

About the Author

This is not me. This is the famous philosopher-king, Younes. He is a French genius/ex-pat living among the South Koreans, many of whom claim him as their own.

To a vocal few, he is an appropriator, disruptor, antagonist. To me, he is a shining example of a man who has taken his love of Asian culture to new heights, albeit too far for some.

In lieu of a traditional alias, I will review Asian cuisine in Texas under the image and likeness of Younes, while using a name that combines my Middle Eastern heritage with Japanese formality, HABIBI-SAN.
